Blogging as Activism: Young women and the Web

When it comes to media and pop culture, girls are experts. Think about it: as the target of most media messages, young women are uniquely positioned to understand and criticize the popular culture they are so much a part of.

ACT 1: The LIGHT A SPARK campaign

Many of you have been with us since the beginning, 15 years already, and have probably been thinking ‘What in the world? How cool!’ at the great strides we’ve undertaken with the LIGHT A SPARK campaign. As many of you know, this campaign aims to expand our base of support for girls, young women and network members, as well as to make Girls Action as self-sustainable as possible in the long-term in these precarious times for Canadian NGOs.
