About the presenter:
Munira Ravji has always been passionate about community work and empowering others. After searching for a long time to find her dream job, she realized that there was a need for her skills and experience in the music industry and not-for profit sectors, but a lack of meaningful job opportunities. She then decided to create her own career path and launched a business offering a la carte consulting and project management services to community organizations, not-for profits and artists. Munira got her start volunteering for initiatives she was passionate about, and eventually gained 12 year’s experience working within the private, public and not-for profit sectors in the areas of communications, community development, marketing, partnerships, social media, strategic planning, research, fundraising, publicity and events. She has worked with organizations and corporations across Canada, but most notably at home in Toronto with not-for profits such as ArtReach Toronto, Girls Action Foundation, Toronto Community Housing, Maytree, Laidlaw Foundation and more. Munira has facilitated countless workshops for young people on civic engagement, becoming an entrepreneur, working with the media and other topics that interest youth and young leaders.
