During this webinar: Alicia Natividad will take you through the basics of creating oral and written contracts whether it be for permanent or contractual employees, service providers, partners or funders. She will talk about the rights and obligations of all contracting parties, what to do if something goes wrong, and where to go for resources on legal issues – whether you are an organization or an individual. This will be your opportunity to chat directly with an expert on legal matters!
About the presenter: Alicia is a lawyer in private practice in Ottawa specializing in business law, estate and succession planning, and real property. She is a strong supporter of women’s rights. Alicia was one of the founders and past President of the Ottawa Women’s Network, she edited the first Directory of Women’s Groups in Ottawa-Carleton, and worked with the Women’s Programme of the Ottawa-Carleton Immigrant Services Organization to set up a women’s co-operative. Alicia also worked with the Multicultural Council of Professional Women to establish it as an incorporated association, with Nelson House (a shelter for abused women and their children) as its first legal counsel, and assisted numerous other women’s organizations. In addition to her work with the women’s community, she supports the Philippine community as legal counsel to various local organizations, writes or speaks on numerous legal topics, or provides pro-bono legal services. She has received recognition for her volunteer and leadership efforts by the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Ottawa. Other accomplishments include receiving the Governor’s General Golden Jubilee Medal, and being named the 2003 Most Outstanding Filipino-Canadian. Read more about Alicia
