National Network

BECOME PART OF OUR NETWORK

Girls Action’s National Network is comprised of close to 300 organizations that support and work with girls and young women across the country. Its purpose is to harness the power of like-minded people and create an interconnected web that fosters knowledge, resource sharing, collaborations, and new initiatives, all to increase the empowerment and well-being of girls.

We provide our National Network Members with publications, resources and practical support such as coaching, training and networking opportunities that help develop community initiatives and girls' programs. Girls Action firmly believes that when we pool our efforts together for a common goal, real change is possible, and is in fact happening everyday!

What are the benefits of becoming a member?

  • An invitation to our National Annual Retreat, a place to connect with other organizations and individuals working for girls' empowerment and well-being;

  • The opportunity to feature your organization in the form of bios, stories or photos on our website in the National Network Members section;
  • Assistance in the dissemination of your information via our Learning Centre and Members News. Share the tools and resources you develop, your news, events, programming ideas and activities with other organizations across Canada. And gain access to the tools and news of other groups!;
  • Access to our website and online tools such as Blogs, Groups and events calendar, where you can connect with other organizers and be in the know about what's happening across Canada. Groups provide space to converse with and ask questions of individuals and organizations also workign with girls;
  • An interactive newsletter that provides you with news of Girls Action events, new resources and profiles of inspiring girls and girls' programs. This quarterly mailout and web document will keep you connected to the work of the national network;
  • Access to members of the Girls Action team to help you build bridges, links and open doors with respect to the work you do;
  • Letters of support from Girls Action Foundation when your group seeks funding;

  • Assistance in increasing the profile and legitimacy of your work, and the work we all do, by fostering connectivity that simultaneously breaks down barriers of isolation.

 What is the difference between Associate and Support membership?

There are two forms of national network membership: associate and support. The type of membership you maintain will depend on your needs and the type of work you do.

Associate Members Associate members work directly with girls and young women at the community level.

Support Members Support members consist of organizations and individuals with community, regional or national reach, that have the knowledge and resources to support the work related to girls and young women.

Membership Agreement

Hi there. I'd love to sign up for the membership agreement, but am unclear about the "I, ____________________________ with full rights to sign on behalf of _____________________ agree to the terms and conditions of membership as outlined herein" piece.

Do I need to have someone else fill this in for me (to sign on my behalf), or can I fill this in myself?

I'm not familiar with legal jargon; I'd appreciate a reply about how to fill this out at: kmoney@sd70.bc.ca

Thanks for your time and help!
