National Working Groups

Participate in one of our four national working groups

Girls Action brings together a National Network of over 330 like-minded members working in common cause to create a community of practice that fosters knowledge, resource sharing, collaboration, and new initiatives, all to increase the empowerment and well-being of girls and young women.

In 2011, members began to talk to us about their desire to connect with other organizations facing similar realities in their programs for girls or young women.

Girls Action is facilitating 4 different working groups focusing on the following topics:

  • Indigenous girls and young women;
  • Girls and young women from rural or isolated areas;
  • Newcomer girls and young women;
  • Racialized girls and young women.

Over the last 5 years, the Working Groups, with members from coast to coast to coast, have met regularly by skype, phone and in-person to problem-solve, share promising practices and take action to tackle some of the important issues they have in common.

After identifying crucial gaps in knowledge, tools or programming, Working Groups are building and implementing new initiatives and resources in collaboration with each other, and with Girls Action Foundation.

Come and share news, challenges and successes of your program and learn more about others who may be facing similar realities. Contribute to the enhancement of programs for girls and/or young women on a national level!
