Lust and Found is a 10 minute narrative-based dramatic short with an original script created by 5 young women who identify as immigrant and refugee. It is the coming of age story of two young immigrant women whose lives are complicated by the parent-child divide, cultural dissonance, gendered experiences between siblings, bullying, teenage social realities, and teen pregnancy. While self-esteem is a constant challenge, the girl-self acknowledged and supportive female relationships “found’ becomes a critical source of power.
This is a project of the Action Team and Girls Action Foundation. Produced and mentored by Joah Lui and the Rolling Earth Centre. Lust and Found est un court-métrage de fiction crée par 5 jeunes femmes qui s'identifient comme étant immigrante ou réfugiée. C'est l'histoire de deux jeunes femmes immigrantes qui font face à des défis liés aux différences entre parents et enfants, la dissonance culturelle, des expériences liées au genre entre frères et soeurs, l'intimidation, les réalités sociales de la vie adolescente et la grossesse. Alors que l'estime de soi est un défi constant, les relations avec des femmes qui fournissent du soutien est une source de puissance.
